Will Working Hard Bring You Success?
Because of social conditioning, our mind has been telling us that to succeed we must work harder and longer hours. That’s nonsense. When our personal and business times are balanced, there is less conflict and stress, and we become more effective and get more done in less time.
Working hard has little to do with success; working with maximum effectiveness does. Work is hard only if we don’t like what we’re doing or don’t properly plan and control our time. There’s nothing hard about what we do in our business or career if we’ve chosen something we love. If you have not, then high on your Goals List should be to find a new job or career. Why spend eight or twelve hours a day doing something that is not personally rewarding and fulfilling? It doesn’t make sense.
Stop taking your career so seriously. Make it fun. Longer work is not better work. If you work fewer hours and have a fulfilling personal life, doing the things you dream of doing and making living fun, you’ll end up accomplishing more in your business life with far less stress.
